Good Sunday morning, peeps! It's the last day of February and, in my mind, that means Spring is about to pop! I cannot wait. It started raining here about an hour ago. Thankfully I got the garbage out to the dumpster just as a few drops were starting. It's raining at a pretty good clip to and is supposed to be an all day event. I'm guessing most of the snow that's left from the warmer temps will disappear. YAY! Now, let's pray March doesn't dump more on us.
I'm in for the day. Going to do some more shredding and finish that up today. And, I'll rummage around in the spare room and get more of that organized. At some point, I need to drag everything in that room out so I can put down an area run I purchased awhile ago. I still need to hang the drapes in there but haven't been able to get to the window with all the junk in the way. It feels good to make some headway.
Morning!! Just had bagels at the waterfront park and then grabbed some groceries. Got those put up and I’ve started some sauce. Now I’m sitting on the porch drinking a Bloody Mary. Don’t judge!
So I messed up my wine cap while opening it. I didn’t realize it was a twist top until it was too late. Now I’m obligated to drink the bottle. BTW, drunk gardening should not be a thing.
DH and I have been married for
almost 9 years, and I couldn't
have asked for better "in-laws".
DH's niece, who shares my first
name, and who stayed with me
for all three of my surgeries,
came over today and started
measuring our dining room and
kitchen. The floors are buckling
because the manufacturer didn't
wrap the a/c floor ducts, so
water condensed on them, and
wicked up through the pink
insulation and warped the cross
beams, causing them and the
floor to buckle, and making it
extremely dangerous for us to
walk on it.
We had to put a sheet of 3/4"
plywood down in front of the
stove to prevent us from going
through.
The husband of another niece
is a home builder, so he will
determine how much we need
in the way of materials, and he
will get a contractor's discount,
and have the materials delivered.
And get this !
All of the nieces and nephews and
their extended families have gotten
together, and they will pay for
everything! 20x20 for the dining
room and kitchen, plus small
amounts for the bathroom and
laundry room.
I guess when I did the funeral
flowers for the oldest sister, DH's
family decided that I was okay, in
addition to making DH happy again.
I got several referrals from those
flowers, from the family as well as
from the funeral home.
I never got to meet DH's family
before our wedding, because
communication was limited to letters
(snail mail) at that time, and DH is
not a letter writer, by any means.
Once we got in touch, it was a
fabulous experience of meeting
these wonderful people.
(Young) people talk about having a
terrible mother-in-law. I just wish
I could have met DH's mother, who
is held in high esteem in this small
town.
I love being able to pass along
good news, in the midst of this
pandemic.
