Finally...a beautiful, sunny morning here! Already got my walk in. And filled up the pool for Cate. She's coming down to play today.
Paul, and his best friend Victor, are off on an adventure. They left yesterday, heading to Big Bend National Park for some hiking. They got a late start, left around noon. Made it to San Angelo where they "camped" at the Marriot Courtyard for the night.
(Now, can I vent a little bit? Paul is going to turn 26 on Monday...and honest to goodness...there are times when I wonder about him. As I was checking with him on the stuff he had packed...extra shoes, plenty of clothes, toothbrush, phone charger. Yes, he had it all. Then, I asked if he had his insurance cards in his wallet. Ummm, no. I was like, "Dude! What if you get hurt? Bit by a rattlesnake! Fall and break a leg! Car accident! What the hell! Go get your insurance cards, and put them in your wallet!" They should be with you, at all times!" Well, he did as I asked. But, I'm still shaking my head, that I even had to bring it up.) Vent over. Thanks for listening.
Oh well, I'd better hit the shower before Cate gets here.
Good morning fwm and Trudy, Paul doesn’t sound any different then any other young male, I’m blessed that my son married a very organized young lady. How did you like North Carolina fwm? My husband and I are flying out there today to see daughter and family.

Lindley, sometimes, I just have to laugh at him.
I've been to North Carolina several times before. But, it was always trips to the beach.
This was my first time in the Raleigh/Durham area, and I can see why Irene and Phil picked it as the place to live in retirement. Beautiful area. Lots to do. Great shopping. I wouldn't mind living there. Much prettier than North Texas. And, the weather is better, too. I loved it!
What part of the state does your daughter live in, Lindley? Enjoy your visit! (I know you will!)

She lives in the Raleigh/Durham area as well. My son lived in the Greensboro area for a few years as well. North Carolina is a beautiful state. Also thank you, we are looking forward to seeing them

If the Gods of Texas read that....
:P
Hahahaha! God's of Texas be damned! Trudy...I can't tell a lie. North Texas is nothing to look at. No big trees. Flat and boring. Northeast Ohio was 100% prettier than this hell hole! ( Now, I'll admit, I don't miss the Ohio winters one bit.) But, we sweat our asses off in the summer heat and humidity. If it weren't for Cate...I'd be out of this place in a heartbeat. I'd love to be near Irene and Phil. They are in a beautiful spot!
NC gets very hot and humid in the summer. I haven't been to Raleigh Durham other than the airport, but I can't imagine it being much different than the rest of the state. It's beautiful though. Lush with all the rain they/we get. We're headed to Pigeon Forge again this year, just on the other side of the Smokies. We love Tennessee.
Hi all!!
I always have to fuss with DD about carrying identification even if she’s just running out with her friends.
I love Tennessee too. And NC.
It’s been unusually cool the past week.
Somehow I’ve managed to break my ankle. It isn’t bad. It’s been a rough few days. Just found out there’s actually a fracture after hopping around in pain since Saturday.
Waiting to get fitted for a boot.
I had to rush him to the ER around
5:00 - hemorrhaging rectally. He
was in the ER for about 3 hours,
then moved to a surgical room.
They're prepping him for a
colonoscopy tomorrow morning.
Visiting hours were over at 8,
so I wasn't able to help get him
settled in his room.
Right now I'm doing laundry to
wash all the slacks and pants he
went through before I got him to
the hospital.
