Good morning, Good Geeks!

Went for my walk. Watered my plants. I have an eye doctor appointment at 9:30, so I need to hit the shower.

Cate is coming down to play. 

Another steamy day here. I might have to get in her pool with her.biggrin

Not much else is happening here.

Rescued a frog from the pool. Another one didn't make it. The boys are at "granny" camp and will be home after lunch. DH took his car to get serviced and is working from the dealership. Other than that, it's hot and humid so I will take a lunch break and float in the pool. The water is 87.

Starting packing for a chili cook-off
this Saturday. Only 20 miles away,
so no travel problems. DH's niece
will meet me there to help set up.
Easy-up 10x10 canopy, folding table,
2 butane burners, plus meat & spices.
I'll make sure I have an extra cooler
for DN's beer, and my lemonade.

Chili sounds good, my family was Texas born and raised,except me and stated passionately that there are no beans in chili, never had chili with beans till I married my husband.

Been in Texas since August of 1996.

Just always hated beans. Except for green beans...which aren't actually a bean! LOL! No wonder I like them!biggrin

beans in competition chili!

What you do at home is up to
you, but you would be laughed
out of town if you ever put a
bean in your competition bowl

I worked with a girl that had a large family. She would put four cans of beans with one pound of ground meat for her chili. 🤢

Beans can make it go further. My mom always used beans for that purpose. I prefer beanless, but don't mind the beans. I do it differently each time.
