Happy Friday...August 27th

Good morning, my pretties!

Can you believe it's the last Friday in August? Summer is flying by!wink

I went for my walk. Watered my plants. Got my shower.

Now I'm waiting for the fence guys to come to replace some of our fence, that's about to fall down. And build us a new gate. Yeehaw!biggrin

Other than that, not much else is happening here.

How about you?

I hope everyone has a good day!smile

Got my hair cut this morning and now I'm getting laundry done, George is vacuuming the main level, and I'm working. I might try to get some pool time in before I pick the boys up.

I’d love to be floating in a pool right now. But, I’m at work. Sitting in the lounge on my lunch break. We have a food truck outside the hospital every Friday. I decided to resist and someone is eating tacos and they smell so good! 😩. Three hours till the weekend!

"Can you believe it's the last Friday in August? Summer is flying by!"

This year itself feels like it's flown by. I can't believe it's September next week. Next weekend is a 4 day weekend for DS. Can't wait!

Also can't wait for tonight. Hubby is going to a concert and I'm going to a women's event at church.

Can't believe DS is going to be 8 in 4 months. Good grief. It still seems like yesterday that we brought him home. He better enjoy his childhood. At this rate, he'll be 18 tomorrow.

Not quite. He'll be 8 in December. He is very, very much looking forward to being rid of the booster seat. He's begging to be able to sit in the front seat. I had him buckle up in the front to see how the seatbelt fits and it fits as it should. I told him I'll ask a police officer what the law says.

But yea, my tiny human isn't so tiny anymore. He's almost as tall as my grandma. He surpassed 4 feet around the beginning of last year. He's very much enjoying being back in-person in school. Can't believe the first quarter of second grade is almost over. He's currently rocking an F in spelling because of his decision to not bother to actually learn the words in first grade (which was online for the year). It shocked him to see the F so now he's actually trying.

Closing schools had so many horrible affects on the children.

Agree. DS chose to stay home because he didn't want to deal with the covid rules. His promise to act like he's in actual school fell through pretty quick. Oh well. What's done is done. I tried. It was very painful. At least his other grades were good - As and Bs but a C in Math. His math grade is a matter of remembering the steps to solving equations, I think, with a dose of pure stubbornness. He starts in the leftmost column when subtracting numbers regardless of how much he's told he must start in the right column.
