We got 2.25 inches of rain since 5:00AM this morning! Needless to say, there were road closures and accidents due to flooding. What a mess but it's clearing now and the sun is coming out.
Tomorrow is my parents' 61st wedding anniversary and we are meeting them for dinner in WV at their favorite German restaurant. I haven't gotten them anything. If they won't let us pay for dinner, then we'll take them out another time at the club where they can't pay. At this point in all our lives, it's really about the experience than tangible items anyway.
The boys went to cotillion last night. One of their classmates was there with his girlfriend, another classmate. It was cute. Then we all went to Mod Pizza after to grab a quick dinner.
Good afternoon! Happy Anniversary to your parents fnw! That is wonderful. We are having a great time, it poured rain yesterday morning till past noon, was going to wait till Friday to take the kids to Dollywood, but daughter and daughter in law made the call to go anyway since the rain was supposed to move out by early afternoon, rained on us when we got there, at lunch at a 50’s themed diner, rain cleared up to a perfect sunny perfect day and walked on every ride with out having to stand in line. Dollywood really impressed me how well it was ran. I didn’t really know what to expect. It was nice that the kids were measured for height and given colored bands for the rides that were appropriate for them to ride. They were getting ready for the opening of their fall festival. The kids had a great time.
We ate at that diner, too. They were so backed up they stopped taking orders for about 15 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. But the boys used that time to get us a table while we waited to order.
We really liked Dollywood, too. The people working there were so nice and friendly!
Did you get the cinnamon sticky buns? That was the boys' breakfast that day. They loved them. They were fresh from the oven.
No, talked about buying some cinnamon bread, but it was close to closing and the kids were interested in getting something from the gift shop. The diner was really good. It really turned out perfectly even though we got off to a late start, after the rain, sun came out and temperatures were perfect and no crowds. We got to ride the bumper cars three times in a row, because there was no one in line.
Today everyone was tired including the kids so we went to the Christmas place.

Just sitting round, doing a bit of this,
and a bit of that. Can't really get
into anything.
My back is killing me today from the
workout I gave it yesterday, filling
200+ goody bags for the School of
Instruction next weekend. Bending
over to drop the goodies into the
bags is hard, especially when you
are short, and have to reach all the
way across the table. Maybe a nice
long hot shower will help.
Since DH is off fishing with a couple
of his buddies, I'll fix whatever I
want from the refrigerator, and
maybe even a glass of wine (or 2).
