Good afternoon, very quiet here without the kiddos, cleaned out the fridge and freezer today, I know super exciting π. Sounds like you have a good cat. Enjoy your time with Cate and Happy Birthday Cate! π₯³ππΈπΌππCanβt believe sheβs five already.
Our two outdoor cats bring us "
presents" almost every day. They
have discovered that we (DH)
dispose of the gifts in the trash can,
so now they deposit them on the top
of the can ! Smart cats !
If anyone has any extra rain, we sure
could use it. Drought conditions - we're
in stage two water restrictions. Thank
goodness we have an ag well (irrigation)
that was put in by previous owners. If
we wanted to drill one today, it would
cost well over $100,000.
Our tomatoes are coming in, in leaps
and bounds. Not large, but oh so sweet.
Do any of you have any tips on how to
preserve/freeze/can these wonderful
fruits? I've frozen them before, but
they always separate, and are quite
watery.
DH's watermelons are starting to put
on melons. Normally, we would have
lots and lots of them for 4th of July,
but they are nowhere near picking
size.
The trauma buses have finally left the
church here in Sutherland Springs,
where the church shooting was. I'm
glad our neighbors are dealing with
all the reminders.
Our local hero, Stephen Willeford,
who stopped the Sutherland Springs
shooter, has been speaking all over
the country. We (our country) don't
need restrictions on gun ownership
as much as we need background
checks, and an age increase to at
least 21 years. And why would we
need anything more than shotguns
or rifles? Our local kids used to have
gun racks in the back window of
their pickup trucks, and we never
had any problems. What we lack
now, that we used to have, is a
nuclear family, respect, discipline,
pledge of allegiance, prayer, and
consequences.
