Woke up to a flooded basement,  at least two inches of water….. used a shop vac and rug doctor and mops, had to remove all toy, lost two bean bags, etc….. now we have fans blowing on the carpet trying to save it, if not will have to get a new carpet. :(

Oh, I hate that, Lindley! We had that happen to ours several times, after we had the basement renovated. We hired a company to come dry it out, at about $1,000 each time. Finally I got another company to install a gravity drain in the window well where it was coming in.

I feel your pain!

Thanks, this came from a sprinkler pipe valve, which is 20 yrs old, but my husband believes it broke ten minutes before he got up this morning, I hate to think what would have happened if it happened at midnight. We had some commercial shop vacs and rug cleaners at our office. Our carpet is only 3 yrs old and hopefully we can save it. Oh well, I needed to go threw some toys anyway and the kids won’t be able to play in it till it dries up.

We have a local company called Serve-Pro
that fixes water, fire and other damage. When
our "extra" son fell in the bathroom during a
seizure, he broke his nose and gashed his chin.
Head wounds bleed copiously, and there was
blood all over the bedroom, and into the walk-in
closet. One of the nurses in the ER gave me
Serve-Pro's number. They were at the house
within the hour. When they got through, you
never would have known that anything had
happened. If they have a location near to you,
I highly recommend them. Their vans are
bright green with orange lettering.

Thanks momala,   My husband is a do it yourself person and he managed to get it cleaned up, but if this happens again and he’s out of town I will definitely check to see if we have them anywhere close to us.    I’m sorry that happened to your extra son, hope he is ok. Must have been scary

Still damp, but much better. The tragedy is my grandson won’t be able to play his Xbox, but he will survive.
