Back to School Night tonight. Then 6 short days till third grade launches. I can't believe this boy of mine will be halfway through elementary school after this year. Sheesh!

I'm not particularly looking forward to getting back to the daily grind but time marches on whether I approve or not.

 No.

Most schools here run July to May.

That’s a long time, here it’s mid August to may.   I don’t know if it’s still the same but when I was growing up in California we got out the 2nd week of June and didn’t go back till the second week of September.

We moved #1 to a school in Utah. It's a hybrid between a therapeutic boarding school and residential treatment program focused on adolescents with asperger's. We had a nice couple days with him in Tennessee and Utah, then said our goodbyes. It was hard but necessary.

My bestie who lives in SoCal says schools are starting in mid-August this year. When he and I were growing up, we got out in June and went back the day after Labor Day.

DS' school does 2 week breaks for fall, winter, and spring; 4 day weekends for Labor Day and Thanksgiving; and 3 day weekends for MLK Day, President's Day, and Easter. It works out to 180 instructional days. I like the way it's set up. Nice long breaks to chunk up the school year.

That’s nota bad schedule, my sister in law use to teach in a year round school close to Temecula, she really liked it, I’ve known some kids who like it to.  l

DH had his cataract surgery on the
13th, follow up with the surgeon on
the 14th, and now I have to put 3
drops in his eye 3 times a day. Loved
the surgeon - she explained everything
in advance, and she only does surgery
one day a week. In and out in under 15
minutes in the OR - it's amazing how
much they have advanced in the last decade.

Now I get to play "Dr. Momala" in taking
care of him!

Since admitting him, our son has been advocating for his release. He wrote three letters Sunday saying how bad it's making him. Ugh. Oh, the guilt.

Last day of summer break. Third grade launches tomorrow. I am not ready to get back to the daily grind of schlepping the tiny human to and from school.

Speedy recovery for your husband momala, I’m sure your son is homesick, but hopefully he comes to terms that he needs to work with the therapist not fight them. You are a good mom, this isn’t your fault and you are doing what is best for him. It’s hard being a parent.

Hope it’s a good year for your son chef. Trying to stay cool here. One grandson is in the basement playing a video game, another taking a nap and another just fell asleep leaning on my shoulder.

We saw #1 yesterday via zoom and he had a social call with us later. Each time it was the same thing over and over. When can he leave and why can't we trust him. Uh, because you told your friend just last week that you are still very suicidal maybe? He says he has had plenty of opportunity to run away but hasn't because of us. That's great, now don't run away for yourself.

Still praying for him, and your family, FNW.

I hope he starts to feel better soon.
