Had to cancel our reservation -
not fair to other people to go
out when I could still pass it
on to others.
DH snuck out of the house and
got me a fabulous bouquet - lots
of gerber daisies, roses, carnations,
stock, and hydrangeas. He also
got a huge platter of jumbo shrimps,
so that's what we had for dinner in
front of a roaring fire in the fireplace.
Not bad for turning 80 !
So sorry that you had to cancel your reservation, but sounds like your husband treated you to a special birthday dinner. Hopefully you will still go for the special dinner at the restaurant and enjoy it. I celebrated our 25th anniversary all year long, so I believe 80 is a special birthday so go ahead and make reservations again and keep celebrating.

Just got back from a fabulous
surprise birthday party!
The Sutherland Springs Community
Association, Inc., of which I used to
be the Treasurer until my cancer
surgeries, had their monthly
meeting today. Under new business,
the President announced that they
wanted to celebrate my 80th. So
after we adjourned, we had home
made strawberry streusel cupcakes.
They were FABULOUS ! The lady
who made them promised to send
me her recipe. And the lady who
runs the ice house (convenience
store connected to a gas station)
kept back one of the floral arrangements
she sold for Valentine's day, and it is now
adorning my computer desk. Pink roses,
white babies' breath, lavender miniature
mums, in a beautiful white vase. I've
got some of the most awesome friends !
