Summer is winding down. DS starts school on Thursday. Almost time to get back to the daily grind.

Any big plans for the rest of summer?

I’m so ready for fall, our schools don’t start till mid August I believe, my grandkids start at the end of August. I hope your son has a great year, what grade is he going in? Finishing up Vacation Bible School and no other plans so far.

The boys don't start until the end of August but they are in sports camps and still working. Their schedules are crazier now then they were during the school year.

So far, so good! He likes his new school. He said he made a friend. He also said that the school makes really good lunches. I'm glad he's happy!

I love the short commute!

Sounds like your boys had beef busy fnw, they are growing up so fast as well as yours chef. I remember how busy summers were when my kids were young. I’m busy again now that I have grandchildren. My daughters were homeschooled but they will be starting public schools this year, my oldest granddaughter will be starting Jr high and the other grade school so it’s going to be a new experience for them. My daughter has always made sure they had socialized with other children so I’m pretty sure they will do fine.

 I'm sure they'll be fine.

I had some worries in the back of my head about DS switching schools. He had been at his previous school for 5 years. But, he's adjusting well. He really likes being able to wear regular clothes to school instead of uniforms. He also likes that he can watch for me coming up in driveline and just come to me without having to wait until I'm in the approved pickup boundary. His previous school had about a 4-5 car length "zone" in which parents could pick up.

School already started here. Everyone is back in the grind. My nose surgery worked and I have a new septum. I'm doing well and have been spending a lot of time with the grandkids. Love them to death. The new baby is just the sweetest and most happy baby ever. I'm headed back to Alaska 10-1 for six weeks. So excited.

Good to hear re your nose surgery!

Glad you're doing well and enjoying time with your grandkids!

Is your Alaska trip because that's where your DH is?

Glad to hear you are doing well and enjoying your grandchildren. Have fun in Alaska. Not much going on with me, been sick with sinus problems which I believe is caused by allergies. I never had this problem before. It’s going to be in the hundreds and nineties all week. I’m so looking forward to fall, I really hope we will have a very cool fall, I’m so tired of this heat and humidity.

Ugh, sinus problems suck! Feel better soon! I have allergies but take a daily anti-histamine and it helps.

I live in Arizona so I'm well-acclimated to heat but humidity is a killer for me. We're in monsoon though it's been pretty much completely dead this year. We were supposed to get some of the rain from Hurricane Hilary but only got some moderate wind and few drops of rain. Drat! The wind was fun though!

My husband left the day before it hit, I heard it wasn’t as bad as predicted. I absolutely hate high temperatures with humidity, thankful for air conditioning.

I'm used to humidity back here on the East Coast. I hate it though and stay indoors or in the pool. The boys have had to go to their sports practices out in it. They bring out water trucks on the field for them, and were weighing #2 before and after practice to make sure he doesn't lose too much water weight. That was when they first started wearing the pads but now they have a feel for everything.

#1 is on accutane which dehydrates him a lot. His face looks great but there is still some scarring but I'll talk to his derm about stopping it unless she thinks it will help with the scarring. It's impacting his running because his muscles tense up and that frustrates him.

Oh Bless them fnw, I remember when my kids had to play out in the heat. I’m so very ready for fall, august is not my favorite month, I’m so over summer, at least the 100 degrees high humidity heat wave we have been having.
