Yay! We had a tornado hit close to our town last night, son and his family plus his poor mother in law who is visiting from a state where they never get tornados and my husband and I slept in our basement last night. Thankfully no injuries or deaths and some damage but I don’t believe it was major.

Ugh, tornadoes!
AZ has been getting a lot of funnel cloud sightings and some tornadoes in recent years. Gives me the shivers. I'm phobic of tornadoes.

Me too! Especially when we lived in a mobile home, the warnings issued on tv telling what to do in a tornado for people to do in case of a tornado the only advice they gave for those in mobile homes was get out 😳, did not make this transplanted Californian new mom feel good.

We had a small (by tornado standards) come down the street next to us a couple years ago. The tornado warning woke me up and I had an instant panic attack. FIL and DH saw it go by. FIL had to keep me from running outside to check on my truck (and hop in it and drive away). I don't think I went back to sleep that night. DS slept through the whole thing.
Thankfully no injuries, just No power, fallen trees and torn roofs. Fortunately it missed my little town, but I do have twigs and branches all over my yard which I will be cleaning up tomorrow. Thanks. My son mother in law was pretty nervous
Glad none of you suffered major
tornado damage! Mother Nature
can sure tell us who's boss.
The once-in-a-lifetime eclipse was
a major bust for us. The cloud
cover was so dense we couldn't
determine where the sun was.
The sky got so dark that the photo-
sensitive light by the front door
and the night light in the bathroom
both turned on, at 1:30 in the after-
noon. I wonder what the people
thought back in the 1300's, the last
time totality hit in our area. I feel
sorry for the vendors who tried to
pump up their sales with versions
of "I survived the eclipse..."
It’s a bummer when the weather interferes in an astronomical event, I didn’t look at it, but saw the change from my window. Hadn’t had a chance to purchase the glasses. As far as past history, over a thousand years ago an eclipse stopped a war, the warriors were so afraid of the eclipse they stopped the battle and ended the war.
We had about 40% coverage in my area. It was pretty neat. I don't usually look but FIL bought glasses for all of us so woohoo! I won't spend money on stuff like that and I don't wish to take the time to make an eclipse viewer.
I put a pair of the eclipse glasses over the camera on my phone to take a pic and got a not good pic. Didn't feel like trying for a better one.
DS' teacher put on the NASA feed so he got see totality and said it was really cool.
