Hello everyone,  I hope everyone is enjoying summer. I actually decorated my house for fall, pumpkin flavored coffee, pumpkins (not real). Made the mistake of visiting hobby lobby. Going to Texas next week and a couple of days in Arkansas.

Happy almost Fall! I need to decorate. I'm still working on projects, having taken the summer off. #1 is struggling with his thigh pain, and will see a surgeon next week for a consult. Pray that he will get surgery and that it helps. His mental state is deteriorating as a result, but he's putting on a brave face. Not sure if that's good either.

What's going on with his thigh?

Does he have coping strategies so his mental state doesn't deteriorate too far?

Will definitely be Praying for number 1 fnw. Both for healing for his thigh and that he uses the tools he was taught to soothe himself

He has meralgia paresthetica apparently. It's rare, and usually caused by extreme weight gain/loss. He has had neither. Or by wearing too tight clothing, which he has not. So it took a year for doctors to diagnose. He does have mental coping skills, but I fear they won't be enough if this drags out too much longer. A person can only take it for so long, and his pain is extreme and has been going on for a year.

Hi all! Got fired. Don’t call in sick when gg has another stroke. It was bad. Oh, well. Ignoring the fact mine lingers on.

I love fall. I put the heat on. Freezing in here.

Just wanted to say hello.

Can you have a steak in TX and toast me?🤣

I'm so sorry to hear of this, Trudy! Wow.

Yes, chef, #1 is praying a lot and has asked to attend Mass alone because he says he gets more out of it rather than going with us as a family. Of course, we honor his wishes. God has told me that John is being tested for a reason (he will need this for his future) and he will be relieved of his pain soon. He (God) has provided me with guidance in the past which never steered me wrong, so I have learned to trust Him.

I Pray someday you could go.. buy you some of Swanson chicken and beef broth, it’s actually pretty good, it would give you some nourishment as well.  I wonder the next time you take GiGi to his doctor appointment, which you may already have asked, ask if there are caregivers that make’s visits to homes to give caregivers a break.

You are definitely in my Prayers

Amen. Trials, though hard, are all about refining one's faith and making one more like Christ. Both of you will see, in time, the purpose of this trial.

Well. September ends on a sad note for my family. I don't remember if I posted about his health struggles but my dad's health was steadily declining since my mom's death last September. It took a nosedive back in April after he had a series of prolonged seizures. He died 9/25/24 ... 1 year and 12 days after my mom.

I finished the last of the necessary notifications to those who need to know and the documents and such this morning. I was surprised to discover that social security has automated process to take their money back if his check gets deposited anyway. I told the rep I was relieved to know that because I know I can't touch it and I don't want to mess anything up since this my first time handling that process. Rep requested his bank account be left open for 1 month so I'll have that hanging out on my to do list but I need his death certificate to close it anyway so that's fine. He, like my other family members, is going through the United Tissue Network for tissue/body part donation so it'll be a number of weeks before I get his ashes back anyway, which is when I'll get the death certificate.

Can't believe I'm only 41 and have lost both parents and all grandparents :(
